Edward Royle graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and joined the firm of Pinkofskys shortly after his call to the bar in 1983. He practices exclusively in the area of criminal law and has a particular interest in the defence of homicide and drug offences.
He has appeared as trial counsel at all levels of court in Ontario and has argued appeals at all levels in Ontario and at the Supreme Court of Canada. Mr. Royle is well known as an advocate for the rights of racial minorities. He was counsel in the well known cases of R v. Parks dealing with race-based challenge for cause in jury selection and R v. Hamilton and Mason dealing with sentencing of African-Canadian women for drug importation.
